• ½ cup of white vinegar (125 ml).

• If you have stubborn stains, moisten a tablespoon of baking soda with lemon and rub it directly on the affected area.

4. Sunflower oil to whiten your towels

It is believed that while sunflower oil is oily and we might think it can stain fabrics, we could  combine it with dry bleach and detergent to keep towels spotless and white. However, there is no scientific evidence that this works. If you still want to try it:

Ingredients

• Water (as necessary).
• 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil (30 g).
• 2 tablespoons of dry bleach (20 g).
• ½ tablespoon of ecological detergent (5 g).

What should you do?

• Bring enough water to boil and add the sunflower oil, the dry bleach and also the ecological detergent.
• Dip the towel you want to bleach and leave it in the solution for a couple of hours.
• Rinse in the regular cycle of the washing machine or by hand.

5. Ammonia and vinegar to whiten your towels

With a mixture of ammonia and vinegar during the rinse in the washing machine you can also get clean, soft towels and free of unpleasant odors.
