Cockroach characteristics

Describing this insect can be somewhat redundant, considering what is widely recognized anywhere; however, it doesn’t hurt to get to know cockroaches more thoroughly. These are some of its most particular characteristics:

  • Their size varies according to their gender: males are larger than females.
  • They are brown or dark brown for most of their life, although in adulthood they take on a black hue.
  • They have nocturnal habits.
  • Its head is made up of two eyes, a mouth, and two antennae.
  • They have six legs, three on each side.
  • They are oviparous. This means that their reproduction takes place through eggs.

Cockroaches tend to be low-risk animals; However, by moving through different places (sewers, feces, garbage and other types of contaminated sites), they acquire bacteria and germs with their feet, which they can end up transmitting to people.

How to fight cockroaches without killing them?

Due to its dirtiness and the great repulsion that they cause, a way has always been sought to combat cockroaches; despite this, many prefer not to face or kill them.

As mentioned above, due to its aroma, bay leaf is one of the best natural alternatives to combat cockroaches without the need to exterminate them.

  • The number of bay leaves enough (it all depends on the size of the house).

Utilization

  • It will be enough to crush or chop each leaf.
  • Once this is done, we will distribute a handful in each corner or corner where we think these annoying insects are hiding.

If it occurs with each of their nests or lairs, much better; at that point, it is recommended to carry out a toilet day in order to leave everything impeccable. 

Later, we will flood the area with fresh and chopped bay leaves. We can also get a laurel bush made to measure at home. Thus, the leaves can be easily renewed.
